Linda Denton Biotherapies provides nutritional therapy services to clients to improve their health through diet and lifestyle interventions and offers workshops to interested parties. We focus on preventative healthcare, the optimisation of physical and mental health, and the management of chronic health conditions. Through nutritional therapy consultations, dietary and lifestyle analysis, and biochemical testing, we aim to understand the underlying causes of your health issues. We seek to address these through personalised dietary therapy, nutraceutical prescription (supplements), and lifestyle advice.
2. How We Obtain Your Personal Data
Information provided by you—you provide us with personal data in the following ways:
- By completing a nutritional therapy questionnaire.
- By signing a terms of engagement form.
- During a nutritional therapy consultation.
- Through email, over the telephone, or by post.
- By taking credit card and online payments.

- Basic details such as name, address, contact details, and next of kin.
- Details of contact we have had with you, such as referrals and appointment requests.
- Health information, including your previous medical history, dietary, lifestyle, supplement and medicine details, biochemical test results, clinic notes, and health improvement plans.
- GP contact information.

We use this information to provide you with direct healthcare. The legal basis for holding your personal data is legitimate interest. Following the completion of your healthcare, we retain your personal data for the period defined by our professional association BANT and registrant body, the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). This enables us to process any complaint you may make. In this case, the legal basis for holding your personal data is contract administration.
Information we get from other sources
We may obtain sensitive medical information in the form of test results from biochemical testing companies. We use this information to provide you with direct healthcare, under the legal basis of legitimate interest. We may also obtain sensitive information from other healthcare providers, subject to your express consent. Without this consent, we may not be able to coordinate your healthcare effectively with other providers.
3. How We Use Your Personal Data
We act as a data controller for the use of your personal data to provide direct healthcare. We also act as a controller and processor for data obtained from third parties, such as testing companies and other healthcare providers, as well as for credit card and online payments. We undertake at all times to protect your personal data, including any health and contact details, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). We will:
- Take reasonable security measures to protect your personal data.
- Use your personal data only where there is an overriding public interest (e.g., safeguarding an individual or preventing a serious crime) or where legally required (e.g., a formal court order).
- Seek your express consent before using your data for marketing purposes, such as newsletters.
4. Do You Share My Information With Other Organisations?
We will keep your information confidential. We will only disclose your information to third parties with your express consent, except in the following circumstances:
- To our registrant body (CNHC) or professional association (BANT) if required to process a complaint.
- To contractors or advisors acting as agents for us, who are bound to keep the information confidential.
- To anyone to whom we may transfer our rights and duties under any agreement with you.
- To legal or crime prevention agencies, or to satisfy a regulatory request (e.g., from CNHC), where required by law.
We may share your information with supplement and biochemical testing companies as part of providing direct healthcare. Sensitive information will not be included. Express consent will be sought before sharing your data with your GP or other healthcare providers unless your life is in danger. In such cases, your information may be shared with the appropriate authority under the legal basis of vital interests.
We may anonymise and share your case history with peers for professional development purposes, such as clinical supervision meetings, conferences, or publications. Your explicit consent will be sought before processing your data in this way.
5. What Are Your Rights?
You have the right to:
- Access, amend, delete, or obtain a copy of your data, subject to some exceptions.
- Request corrections or updates to inaccurate information.
- Ask us to stop processing your data unless required by law or professional guidelines (e.g., BANT and CNHC).
- Receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller.
- Object to the processing of your data at any time.

We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR, ensuring fairness and lawfulness. We also comply with the common law duty of confidence within the health sector. Measures include:
